Bogotá Fashion Week, a cultural program of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, seeks to position Bogotá as a fashion business capital in the national and international market, focusing on independent design. In this, its fifth edition, more than 160 designers and brands will be gathered in this free admission event.

The general agenda of BFW 2022 begins this Thursday, May 19, with the launch of the Red Moda Circular program, at 10:00 a.m., in the Experience Room on the 3rd floor of Ágora Bogotá - Convention Center. Admission is free with prior registration at this link.

The Pop-up Stores and the Multibrand Design, which bring together 160 design proposals in segments such as ready-to-wear, lingerie, jewellery, footwear, Demi-Couture, beachwear, apparel, bags and accessories, will open the doors from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., on floor three. Download the map here.

At 2:00 p.m., Cristina Umaña (actress), María José Arjona (artist) and Edward Salazar, author of Nostalgias y aspiraciones, will discuss the narrative power of aesthetics in the inaugural Conversations panel, also on floor 3. Later, in this same space and at 3:15 p.m., Rocío Arias Hofman, curator of this cycle, interviews Raúl Peñaranda. Also, BFW 2022 participating brands Soul Intimates, Ivory Atelier and Stevan Valencia will discuss their business models, starting at 4:15 p.m. The admission to these Conversations is free with previous registration in this form.

On the other hand, in the Experience Room, also on floor 3, at 6:00 p.m., will take place the talk Tendencias de la pasarela 2022: sostenibilidad y metaverso, by Esden Business School. At 7:00 p.m., Ana María Muñoz, from SENA's Research, Innovation and Technological Development System, will conclude the activities of this space with the lecture Nuevos materiales, la innovación en la moda.

Pop-up Stores

Bogotá Fashion Week opens as a great showcase for its visitors, with innovation and the local seal as flags. The design proposals of the collections may be purchased at retail and through direct sales to consumers.

Runways

The collections to be presented are in line with the international trends of the season. From the curatorial phase, the specialized consultancy selected the brands that showed the greatest evolution during the monitoring for a staging during these three days.

Admission by invitation.

Conversations

Lasting solutions for sustainable fashion businesses. This is the premise of the curatorial talks led by Rocío Arias Hofman, from La Silla Verde.

Environmental responsibility, creative collaborations, the publishing trade and cultural sustainability are some of the topics.

Schedule: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Business Wholesale

This component is aimed to generate business and the growth of companies through business roundtables, from the local and international markets. Designers and brands will have the opportunity to interact with buyers, and design and product proposals, to circulate contacts and promote future business.

Multibrand Design

This section is intended to promote brands that are part of the integral commitment of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá to the fashion sector, in the Apparel; Leather, Footwear and Leather Goods; and Jewelry and Costume Jewelry sectors.

Through an exhibition curated by the LCI School of Design, about 60 brands complement the retail offer of BFW.

Experience Room

This section aims to bring the public closer to staging events led by different partners, designers and other actors in the fashion industry. Runways, launches, trade shows, conferences, commercial activations, among others, make up the agenda of a new space of free access for visitors within the BFW experience.

Specialized accompaniment

The participating brands were provided with training processes focused on international sales, which were complemented through the portfolio of services for the fashion sector provided by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá. This was carried out by Kollective Moda, a global brand management group with extensive experience around the world.

Food and beverage area

Participating brands: Amor Perfecto, Andrés Carne de Res, Elektra, Gordo, Home Ice Cream & Shakes, La Hechicera and S.Pellegrino Essenza.
